On Wednesday 23rd January, our Yr 5 and Yr 6 girls enjoyed a fully immersive day out to the Globe Theatre, to complement their studies of Macbeth this ½ term. This hands-on day gave them an opportunity to understand what theatre was like in Shakespeare’s time, how an audience might have experienced the play and to develop a real understanding of the context behind the work. Taking part in workshops led by RSC actors, the girls learned how to use their voice and eye contact to bring the work to life. The stand out moment for most was coming out on stage, standing and delivering a line from Macbeth!
The girls also visited the Globe/Shakespeare exhibition and had a tour of the Globe theatre.
A fantastic time had by all!
