This half term, Year 8 pupils have been creating news reports about the riot at a set of gladiator games in Pompeii.

They were tasked with including the key facts about the riot and presenting them in a news format. Some pupils chose to create videos, while others produced newspapers, like the examples shown here.

Pupils showcased great creativity with the names of their papers, the use of eyewitness accounts (some even played by family members!), and adverts for various ancient products. The class has been highly supportive of one another, sharing many positive comments during feedback sessions for the presenters.

Be sure to ask your child about their project – especially if you made a cameo appearance in it!
