This week, Year 7 had their first athletics competition of the season against Newstead Woods School.
With nearly 100 girls competing for Bromley High School, the teams competed in their houses, which was excellent preparation for Sports Day.
The event started with the 200m and 100m, with girls racing in heats to make it to the final, followed by the 800m and 1500m. Meanwhile, the girls were jumping and throwing as far and as high as they could in the long jump, high jump, shot put, and javelin. To end the competition, everyone came together to watch the hotly contested 100m and 200m finals, and the favourite event, the relay!
It was truly a great morning, seeing Year 7 enjoying athletics, working in teams, helping run events and supporting each other. We are looking forward to the rest of the athletics events coming up this season.
