Every year, our new Year 7 pupils take part in a PGL adventure trip in their first month to develop team building skills and personal resilience. As the girls were unable to take part this year, they instead enjoyed a fun-packed day of team building and problem-solving activities in school. They were also treated to an after-school movie night.
The morning was spent problem-solving in their forms with their tutors and co tutors. Congratulations to 7F for creating the highest shoe tower! The girls also created an egg parachute to delivers their egg safely to the ground from the sports hall balcony. Many teams proudly discovered their eggs in tact after its flight with an ‘eggcellant’ display of team work!
This was followed by an epic session of code breaking and Triflexagon making, organised by the Maths department. The girls worked brilliantly in teams to solve the clues and received rewards when all members successfully created their Triflexagon.
“Seeing the girls communicate, interact, support each other and work together throughout the whole day, whilst they made new memories was incredibly rewarding for all. Along with the smiles on their faces and their grateful attitudes, it really was a super day.”Miss Higgins, Head of Year 7
In the afternoon, it was time for some more physical activities as the girls rotated around the different sport stations in their forms. The noise exploding around the Astro was a clear sign of the competitive spirit out in full force.
The pupils were also treated to an after-school movie night in the Sixth Form Common Room, watching Nativity to get in the festive spirit.
The movie night was particularly special. At a time when the world is not quite as we know it, the atmosphere was incredibly special as the lights went down, the popcorn bags rustled and the girls giggled.” Miss Higgins, Head of Year 7
A huge thank you to Miss Higgins for arranging such a fun-packed team building programme for our Year 7 pupils.
