Last week, Year 6 held their annual Enterprise Day, featuring a rock band performance, an acrobatics show, and a playground fair, delighting the entire Junior School.
The Year 6 Enterprise Project kicked off at the end of April with a talk from entrepreneur Karen Kimura (GDST Trust Office), who challenged the girls to think about running their own “sustainable business project” and the skills that would be required.
Their goal was to make money from selling sustainable products for their chosen charities, which are:
- Bromley Brighter Beginnings
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Bromley Homeless Charity
- Child Aid
The first event featured an amazing performance by the Year 6 Rock Band and Acro Club, followed by ice lollies. The second was a fair held on the playground. The Year 6 girls meticulously planned the activities for their stalls, based on the Japanese motto “Mottainai,” which means not throwing anything away and aligns with the ongoing focus on making Bromley High School a more sustainable place.
The Year 6 teachers are very proud of the girls for their creative problem-solving and the kindness and compassion they showed to the younger students.
