Amidst the renovations to our school frontage and middle courtyard, Year 3 pupil Aaliyah noticed the impressive work being done and wrote to Blakedown to commend them. This led to a special invitation for Year 3 to visit the construction site, where the pupils were inspired by the experience and learned about sustainability, planting choices, and the roles of workers.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience, asking thoughtful questions, including those about the sustainability of materials, planting choices, the roles of workers, and whether any historical remains had been found on-site.
Many pupils were very inspired by the visit that they expressed an interest in becoming landscape architects or working in the construction industry.
