Congratulations to Year 12 Art student Polly who, after winning her regional heat at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in February, presented at the Articulation London Finals last Wednesday at the British Library.

The Articulation Prize is a nationally acclaimed annual event run by The National Gallery, which promotes the appreciation and discussion of art. The Prize engages students aged between 16-19 with art, regardless of background or experience, and develops their confidence and ability to express their opinions, thoughts and conclusions.

As one of six competitors in the final, Polly spoke engagingly about Nan Goldin’s photograph ‘Nan and Brian in Bed’. Polly is the second student to represent Bromley High School at the competition and she did extremely well to reach this stage; over 1,400 students in the UK have taken part in the prize this year!

“Thank you to all of the speakers and congratulations on the incredibly high standard of presentations. I loved the fact that each of them tackled really big subjects and grappled with them sensitively and eloquently.”Simon Hucker, Modern & Contemporary Art Specialist and Competition Adjudicator
