Year 11 pupils Lydie, Ramya and Eleanor have qualified from the second round of the ESU public speaking competition, the largest competition for schools in England and Wales, which was held in person at Trinity School.

The motion was ‘The bias against introversion leads to a colossal waste of talent, energy, and happiness (Susan Cain).’  Eleanor was awarded second-place speaker, Lydie was awarded first-place speaker, and the team as a whole was roundly congratulated by the judges.

Bromley High School also chaired a speaker who spoke about the importance of confidence in life.  Congratulations to Lydie, Ramya and Eleanor!

“It was wonderful being able to speak in front of different schools and express my opinion on a topic that is very important to me. It was also interesting being able to listen to such a wide range of talks from other school speakers.”Eleanor, Year 11 Public Speaker
