Earlier this month, twelve groups from Year 10 set out to do their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition.
The expedition involved a two-day trek, where they had to navigate through unfamiliar terrain while carrying their own equipment and food, all while working together as a team.
Each day, they walked approximately six hours, covering a total distance of 27km. The experience proved to be a valuable teacher, imparting skills such as leadership, communication and resilience to the participants. It pushed them out of their comfort zones, allowing the girls to develop crucial life skills and instilling a sense of achievement.
“The practice was very beneficial as now we know our weaknesses and feel more prepared for the assessed expedition in June” Kali & Georgina, Year 10 pupils
