Year 9 spent a busy time over Easter improving their French. Staying with a host family and exploring wonderful Chartres and Paris

Tuition in French from French Nationals, and then a tour to the famous Cathedral which is what Chartres is known for.
The stained-glass windows were incredible! A stained-glass window workshop helped cement the girls’ appreciation of this wonderful craft.

Next Paris by coach a Bateaux Mouches river cruise then off to the
Musée d’Orsay. Van Gogh’s and Monet’s work amongst many famous artists work to appreciate. Spending time in   Montparnasse – climibing up the tower to the 59th storey with a breath-taking view.

Shopping at Galeries Lafayette and then the next day was spend visiting more sites: Notre-Dame de Paris in Ile de la Cité, lunch in the Jardin des Tuileries, Sacré Coeur on Montmartre with its prominent edifice and finally Place du Tertre before heading back to their host families.

“We left on a happy note on Sunday at 7 am, bidding farewell to the people we got to know. Overall, I took plenty of photos in France, the food was delicious and the landmarks were amazing! Thank you to Mme Strange, Mme Parkin and Mrs Bryan for making this trip possible.”
