This term, the Junior School took part in a careers day dedicated to the vibrant world of the arts! It was a morning filled with hands-on workshops and fascinating insights from professionals across the creative industries.

All pupils had the opportunity to explore:

  • Filmmaking: They learned the tricks of the trade from a seasoned videographer, mastering shot composition, operating cameras, and even trying their hand at editing.
  • Graphic Design: A graphic designer unlocked the secrets of visual communication, showcasing captivating logos and designs. The girls then unleashed their creativity in a logo design challenge.
  • Media and Broadcasting: The energy in the room soared when a renowned radio DJ and TV presenter shared their experiences in the dynamic world of media. His stories were captivating, and the girls were buzzing with excitement.
  • Architecture: We were incredibly fortunate to welcome two talented architects who guided the students through the fundamentals of building design. The girls then sketched their “dream spaces,” which were later combined to create a collaborative city.
  • Art Education: Aspiring art teachers gained valuable insights into creative education, learning how to inspire young artists.
  • Performing Arts: A speech, drama, and opera expert captivated the children with storytelling, acting, and vocal exercises, encouraging them to embrace their inner performers.

The day was a resounding success! The girls left with a newfound appreciation for the diverse and fulfilling careers within the arts and a spark of inspiration in their eyes.
