The inaugural under 14 and under 16 athletics competition was held at Norman Park last weekend, offering athletes the opportunity to qualify for the English Schools Competition to represent Kent.

It was great to see the see the new and improved facilities at Norman Park, including a brand new building with an indoor warm-up track.  Our girls competed in an array of events, from Long Jump and Javelin to Hurdles and 800m.

Some of our girls train all year round for the summer season and it was a delight to watch them excel and win in their events: Sybil in the 100m, Nuriah in the 200m, Alyssa in the 300m, Faith in the 200m, Luciana in the 800m.

Equally exciting was seeing those girls who competed in their events for the first time this season showing excellent determination for example Sophie in the 800 and Kali debuting in the Triple Jump.

We look forward to seeing how they will all improve this summer athletics season. Well done to those who achieved the nomination standards, good luck at the next round!
