Last week, the school celebrated the success of Year 9 pupil Mila who clinched victory in the Fourth Plinth Schools Awards 2024 in the 12-15 age category.
Launched by the Mayor of London’s office in 2007, the annual awards invites children from primary and secondary schools in all London boroughs to enter a competition in which they create their own art works inspired by the commissions for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.
Mila emerged as the overall winner in the 12-15 age group during the awards presentation day for her remarkable ceramic creations, commemorating the pioneering journey of the first dog in space.
The competition culminated in an exhibition of the winning entries at City Hall where Mila’s winning entry was included. The exhibition also included Year 9 pupil Eshal’s competition entry, which reached the finals: a ceramic piece symbolizing advocacy for the natural world, showcasing her commitment to environmental awareness.
