Last Thursday, the Bromley High School under 15 cricket team faced Sutton Valence in the semi-finals of the Kent Hard Ball Finals.

After winning the toss, the team chose to bowl. They started strong with a wicket in the first over and took a few more in the subsequent overs. Despite some resistance from Sutton, who hit a few fours, Sutton ended up at 71 for 4. When it was Bromley’s turn to bat, the team got off to a great start with a four off the first ball and maintained momentum. The match became tense in the final overs, needing 8 runs off the last over, but they played well and secured the win, advancing to the final.

In the final, the team played Ashford School. Losing the toss, they were elected to bowl. Ashford’s strong batting lineup, combined with some great bowling and fielding, resulted in a challenging 108 on the scoreboard. Bromley’s batting started well with a crucial retirement, but despite their best efforts, they finished with a silver medal, which they can be very proud of!
