Bromley High School’s under-12 team played their first-ever fixture against Langley School for Girls in the Bromley Cup.
The team started positively and put pressure on their opponent, ensuring that Langley had limited time on the ball. However once in possession, Langley found space, by moving the ball at speed and with accuracy. This resulted in Langley being able to test the Bromley High goal on a few occasions.
Yet our players continued to maintain a high work rate and went into half-time at 0-0. Both teams started the second half well and we sought out opportunities to maintain possession better and create some chances on goal, unfortunately, we found ourselves out of position and Langley were able to slot a goal past our keeper.
Our team sought out an equaliser but Langley were excellent in front of goal, managing to score two late goals, resulting in a 3-0 victory for Langley.
It was certainly a performance that our players can be proud of, especially as it was their first-ever fixture as a team. We wish Langley all the best in the next round.
