Last week, pupils in Years 7 to 10 competed in the Track & Field Cup athletics competition at Norman Park.
The team delivered an amazing performance, emerging as the overall winners. There were some outstanding performances in the Years 7 and 8 group. Kara achieved a new school record in the 800m, winning her event with a time of 2:22 minutes. Another record broken on that day was the High Jump record, surpassed by Fayo with a jump of 1.38m, beating the previous record by 1cm.
There were many other winners that day, including Tess and Fayo in the 75m hurdles, earning a combined total of 53 points for the team. Hetty, Aara and Rosie also competed in track events, contributing valuable points to the team’s score. The relay team consisting of Feyi, Mariana, Isla and Francesca emerged victorious, securing a win for the team.
The athletics team is delighted with their performances and eager to compete again in the near future!
