Year 7 and 9 pupils clinched first place in the GDST Modern Foreign Languages Festival, competing against over 100 pupils from across the GDST family.

Dedication fuelled their triumph in the spelling bee and poetry at the festival, which was hosted at Sydenham High School this year.

The event brought together pupils from a range of different year groups across the GDST to celebrate the importance and benefits of learning a wide range of modern languages.

“We won four mini trophies in the spelling bee, managing over 20 words in two minutes. We had a wonderful experience, executed our poems with confidence, and socialised with the other GDST pupils.”Daisy, Year 9 pupil

Congratulations to Daisy, Meher, Riva and Christalin for winning the spelling bee and to Lily, Abby and Marley for earning so many points in this tough competition. It was a fantastic day of languages!
