Earlier this week, a group of pupils from Year 11, 12, and 13 with aspirations of working in finance embarked on an enlightening journey to the London Stock Exchange Group.

The pupils participated in the exclusive event “The Unconventional Realities of Achieving Career Success,” which was held in honor of Black History Month. This event shed light on the journey toward career progression by drawing upon the insights of a diverse group of senior leaders.

The pinnacle of the event was an engaging panel discussion featuring four accomplished female executives from the finance sector. Their insights resonated deeply, touching on crucial themes such as effectively channeling ambition, harnessing strengths to bridge gaps, prioritizing intentionality over mere visibility, and maintaining motivation while steering clear of burnout.

These invaluable lessons will undoubtedly guide the pupils as they embark on their own journeys to success.

“It was a very inspiring discussion, and gave us lots of advice about the workplace, working in the city, and the finance industry specifically – which will be very beneficial for the future. Thank you to: Mrs Bird, Mrs Kamalagharan and Mr Greenwood for organising this event.” Jenna, Year 13 pupil
