Last weekend, a group of six Year 10 and two Year 11 pupils embarked on a journey to South Hampstead High School GDST for the South Hampstead Schools Debating Competition.

The day unfolded with enthusiasm and productivity as the pupils engaged in compelling debates. Impressively, most teams secured first and second place in various debates. The motions explored intriguing subjects like candidate selection within the Labour Party and the contentious issue of whether artificial intelligence should be prohibited in children’s toys.

The event provided a platform for intellectual exchange and showcased the pupils’ debating prowess in a diverse range of thought-provoking topics.
