Years 4 to 7 pupils recently entered the Bebras Computing Challenge which introduces computational thinking to students and is organised in over 50 countries, aiming to get students excited about computing worldwide.
The pupils recognise patterns, use abstraction, and employ algorithmic thinking to solve problems. This year, we had an impressive 27 pupils in Year 4 and 5 graded in the top 10% nationally in their age category. Additionally, 10 pupils achieved full marks and were awarded the “Best in School” certificates. Congratulations to them!
Year 6 pupils entered the Juniors (ages 10-12) category and achieved fantastic results. Four pupils earned full marks, and 17 others were graded in the top 10% nationally, earning a gold certificate and an invite to the Oxford University Computing Round 1 Competition in January.
Year 7 also participated in the Juniors category, achieving outstanding results with 19 pupils placing in the top 10% nationally. They earned gold certificates and invites to the Oxford University Computing Round 1 Competition. One student also received the “Best in School” award with full marks.
Congratulations to all the participants!
