It was our great pleasure to welcome Brittany Pummel in person to motivate our young women with her Minerva lecture on Creating Community in Crisis.

Brittany studied at Bromley High School before reading Disaster Management at Coventry University. She now works as a humanitarian aid worker with refugees in Greece and has pioneered the non-governmental organisation REFUGYM.

Her lecture was extremely informative, particularly for our A-level Geography students who are studying migration. She was an inspirational example of a young woman realising her heart’s vision by empowering camp residents to use their skills and knowledge to help their own community using physical exercise to increase physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

One of our students said, “Brittany was extremely inspiring and I admire greatly what she does. The presentation also widened my awareness of the severity of the refugee crisis.”

Following Brittany’ inspiring lecture, Bromley High School is fundraising for REFUGYM.
