In the last few weeks, numerous girls from the Junior School entered Bromley High School’s inaugural Master Chef competition. Today, the final saw eight girls from Year 3 to Year 6 compete eagerly.

The girls were judged by Mr Joby Wells, former Head Chef now working as a Director of Operations at the Chelsea Arts Club, and the Mayor of Bromley, along with the Mayor’s Attendant.

Pupils had one hour to cook dishes ranging from ‘Parmesan-crusted salmon with seasoned wedges, zingy salad, and parmesan tuile’ to ‘Welsh Cawl with a twist and out-of-proportion laverbread patties’ by themselves. All dishes were spectacular, and the girls’ calm attitude in the kitchen was particularly congratulated.

In a very close contest, Year 3 pupil and the youngest competitor, Sanya, was crowned the winner. Sanya cooked a wonderful Papdi Chaat, which was judged to be ‘restaurant standard’. Well done Chef!
