We are proud to introduce our new Head Girl Team led by Indie, her deputies Anna and Ashvika and Senior Prefects Ekemena, Samiya, Lara, Jenna and Charlotte.
All our Sixth Formers are exceptional role models and it is more difficult each year to select just a few of these impressive young women to act as Senior Prefects.
Indie – Head Girl
Studying: Physics, Maths, Economics
Aspirations/Interests: My goal in life is to be happy and help make the people around me happy. I want to make an impact and change the world for the better. I would love to go to university to study economics and management.
In the future, I hope to travel around the world and volunteer to help people of all cultures, and learn more about their way of life. I also love reading as it allows me to escape reality and become immersed in a different world.
As Head Girl, I would like to interact with as many year groups as I can and also support pupils to make their ideas become a reality.
Favourite quote: “Be the change you wish to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
Anna – Deputy Head Girl
Studying: Biology, Psychology, Business
Aspirations/Interests: When I have finished my time at Bromley High School I would like to study neuroscience at either Exeter or Bristol University, as I have thoroughly enjoyed psychology and biology. By doing two new subjects, I have really found a new set of skills that I had never encountered before, so by doing a degree in one of these subjects, I hope to establish an even wider set of skills.
Outside of school I like doing physical activities which help take my mind off school. My favourite activity is dance. I also enjoy baking and hope to one day retire and enter The Great British Bake Off but I would prefer to eat the cakes rather than bake them.
As Deputy Head Girl, I would love to spread even more positivity around the school and provide as much support as I can to whoever needs it.
Favourite quotation: “Be who you are, not who the world wants you to be” – Coco Chanel
Ashvika – Deputy Head Girl
Studying: Biology, Chemistry, Psychology
Aspirations/Interests: Once my time at Bromley High comes to an end, I would like to start my new chapter by studying medicine at university. Wherever life takes me, my main priority is to help others and have a positive impact on their lives. I would love to travel the world, explore new cultures and learn about the differences which make us all unique.
Outside of school, I love to bake and play the keyboard as it allows me to have time away from the stresses of life.
As Deputy Head Girl, I would like to interact with all years and allow everyone to have a chance to voice their ideas or concerns.
Favourite quotation: “If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough”- Oprah Winfrey
Ekemena – Senior Prefect Head Girl Team
Studying: Biology, Chemistry & Classical Civilisation
Aspirations/Interests: I hope to be a person that my younger sister and nieces can look up to in times of need. I currently have many interests including weight lifting, volunteering at care homes and reading. I want to enter the medical field or be a pharmacist and be a huge advocate for multiple marginalised communities. I aspire to provide comfort and a shoulder to lean on during my time of being part of the Head Girl team.
Favourite quotation: “Don’t settle for average. Bring your best to the moment. Then, whether it fails or succeeds, at least you know you gave all you had. We need to live the best that’s in us.” – Angella Bassett
Samiya – Senior Prefect Head Girl Team
Studying: Politics, History, English Literature
Aspirations/Interests: To truly create your mark in the world, you must first make an impact. When I complete Sixth form, I plan to hopefully study Law and specialise in helping refugees and those being discriminated against achieving their goals. In my spare time, I play in the Keston Mosque Netball team, which I thoroughly enjoy. I am also a member of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, where I am currently learning courses such as how to fly gliders and first aid. As a Senior Prefect I’d love to introduce activities celebrating diversity and create an impact on the school community.
Favourite quote: “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” – Muhammad Ali
Lara – Senior Prefect Head Girl Team
Studying: Computer Science, Design Technology, Physics, Maths
Aspirations/Interests: When I finish Sixth Form I’d love to study either software engineering or video game production as I would like to make and publish my own games. As an avid member of my local Scout group, I get to learn many different skills that I wouldn’t have been able to elsewhere, some including axe throwing, camping skills and starting a 13 man game of intense UNO. I hope that, alongside the Head Girl Team, we can make the school community even more integrated.
Favourite quotation: “Make your wonderful dream a reality; it will become your truth. If anyone can, it’s you.” – N (Pokemon black and white)
Jenna – Senior Prefect Head Girl Team
Studying: Economics, Maths, Music
Aspirations/Interests: After Bromley High, I hope to do a degree in maths and economics at university, in addition to travelling the world and overall spreading positivity and happiness to the people around me. I thoroughly enjoy playing in orchestras inside and outside of school, as well as dancing, and spending time with my friends and family, and most importantly, my dog. 13 years of playing the violin has allowed me to support, collaborate with and lead my peers, as well as learning valuable life lessons which are a huge part of who I am today. By being on the Head Girl Team, I hope everyone can come to me when they are down and I can put a smile on their face, as well as inspiring each pupil in the school and for them to believe that anything is possible.
Favourite quotation: “Out of the mountain of despair, there is a stone of hope” – Martin Luther King Jr.
Charlotte – Senior Prefect Head Girl Team
Studying: Economics, Business, Maths
Aspirations/Interests: In the future I hope to study a course at university that includes both economics and business as ever since starting studying them in September, I have grown a real passion for the subjects. As part of my Duke of Edinburgh programme, I volunteer at Lewisham Food Bank helping in any way I can to support those in my community whether that be packing food parcels or sorting and putting away donations.
Outside of school I love to spend time with my friends and take part in activities such as karate. After seven years of hard work, karate has taught me a wide range of skills such as discipline and dedication which transfers into who I am today. Being part of the Head Girl Team is a great honour and I believe, along with the rest of the team, we can implement real change in the school community to ultimately make it the best experience for each and every pupil.
Favourite quotation: “Do what you were born to do, you have to trust yourself” – Beyoncé
