Year 12 GDST LEAD pupils studying the Enterprise elective immersed themselves in the Southern Leadership Programme yesterday, held at sister GDST school Sutton High School.
The event gave our pupils the opportunity to seize a rare chance to glean wisdom from influential entertainers, as well as foster connections with peers from other GDST schools.
Amid the dynamic sessions, one student faced an unexpected challenge: holding her breath as a peer swiftly pitched a business idea. The pace of the presentation left her breathless, symbolising the rapidity with which innovative concepts can be conveyed in the competitive world of entrepreneurship. This unique experience encapsulated the intensity and quick thinking required when articulating ideas, leaving a lasting impression on the aspiring leaders in attendance.
GDST LEAD launched in September 2021 as an innovative Leadership and Enterprise programme designed to allow young women to develop the transferable skills necessary to be future leaders and entrepreneurs. It provides our Sixth Formers with the opportunity to take part in a charitable initiative in which they gain and develop new skills and bring an entrepreneurial project to fruition. The leadership programme is also accredited by the LSE.
