At the start of February, the 1st XI Football Team traveled to Bede’s School for a National Shield match.

The Bromley High School started the game strongly and went 5-0 up by halftime. They then scored another 5 goals by the end of the match, unfortunately conceding one just before the final whistle, resulting in a final score of 10-1. Three goals were scored by Rosie Rowe, three by Sophie, two by Bella, one by Zara, and one by Chloe. The player of the match for this game was Emma, who demonstrated exceptional strength in her tackles as soon as she entered the pitch and showed determination throughout the game before coming off injured.

The team’s defensive recovery strengths were highlighted by Chloe when one of Bede’s attackers broke through their back line. Chloe quickly recovered and stopped multiple shots throughout the game. The team now progresses to the semi-finals of the ISFA Shield competition to be played after half-term.

“Also our teamwork in midfield shone through when we played calmly around Bede’s, and consequently resulted in many of our 10 goals.”Bella, 1st XL Football Captain
