‘London Calling’ – Dance Production 2017

This year’s senior School dance production ‘London Calling’ took place on Thursday 16th and 17th November.  The show explored London Town past and present. The hall was transformed into a London street scene with images and projections of iconic buildings and landmarks.  The dance pieces took the audience on a journey from Covent Garden, travelling on the tube, the London Blitz, The Royal Opera House through to the London fashion scene.

Girls from year 12 alongside myself and outside dance artists Deborah Galloway and Ayshen from Dynamic Eclipse Arts choreographed pieces for the show.  Thanks go to the following student choreographers who worked exceptionally hard to create original, fun pieces and to teach and inspire the younger students.

Danielle Allen-Chhokar
Annabelle Ashley-Cheek
Kristina Griffin

Maisie Langley

Olivia Naish
Nadia Pettit-Johnston
Rebecca Seed
Izzy Speed

Congratulations to all students who participated in London Calling, you did an amazing job and all helped contribute to a very successful show.

Rebecca Seed year 12 performer and choreographer

“We always love having the opportunity to choreograph for the show & to teach the younger girls.  Seeing it as a finished piece from the start of rehearsals to performing on stage made us feel really proud.”

Evie hone, Year 7 performer

“I enjoyed working as a team with people that I have never worked with before, these are now new friends of mine.  I really enjoyed performing & experiencing a new dance style that I have not done before.”

Thank you to all parents for your support in the run up to the show and coming to watch your daughter perform.
