This week, our under 10 Netball teams competed in two significant tournaments.
On Tuesday, two teams faced off against 27 other schools in the Year 5 and 6 Bromley Borough Bees Event. They were undefeated in five out of eight games, narrowly missing out on the quarter-finals.
On Wednesday, another two teams participated in the JAGS versatility event, showcasing fantastic netball skills against strong competition from JAGS, Alleyns, Eaton House, and Ibstock Place.
In the A team tournament, the girls were undefeated, winning or drawing all their matches, which earned them silver medals, coming down to just one goal difference from the overall winners. Meanwhile, the B team celebrated as trophy winners, securing first place with gold medals. This event marked both teams’ first time playing a 7-a-side tournament, having previously competed in the 5-a-side format in Year 4. The C team proudly received their bronze medals – an impressive achievement considering this was the girls’ first experience playing 7-a-side.
Across both tournaments, the players demonstrated true Bromley High School spirit, showing determination, fair play, and excellent teamwork.
“They adapted brilliantly, responding well to coaching and playing different positions throughout the matches, as it was a versatility tournament.”Mrs Maguire, Coach
The growth and development of each player were evident, and it was rewarding to see their hard work pay off.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and I am incredibly proud of their achievements. A great time was had by all, and these tournaments will surely inspire the girls as they continue their netball journey!
