Earlier in the summer, the BHPA Book Drive collected over 1,500 books and raised over £1,100, thanks to the efforts of Bromley High School pupils, to help fund the creation of a new library space for the children of St Michael’s C of E Primary School.

This small primary school in Sydenham had an amazing space they wanted to transform into a whole-school and community ‘Under the Sea’ library. The only thing they were missing was the funding to make it happen.

During his speech, the Head Teacher highlighted that many of their students lack access to books at home or through local libraries, expressing deep gratitude for receiving this vital support. Special thanks were given to Bromley High School for their continued commitment to the Acorn Book Club scheme.

The new library space will also be available to mother and toddler groups and other community organisations that the school feels could benefit from this resource.
