Bromley High School has proudly been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction, recognising its remarkable efforts toward sustainability.
The Eco-Schools Award is a globally recognised program that rewards schools for their commitment to environmental sustainability and education, encouraging students to actively engage in creating a greener and more sustainable future.
The school’s Eco-Committee, made up of passionate and committed students, has led a series of impactful environmental initiatives. This resulted in a dynamic Action Plan that showcases their dedication to creating a greener school and community.
Some standout initiatives include litter-picking and building animal homes, highlighting their creative and hands-on approach to sustainability. The assessor praised the school’s ability to integrate environmental education into the curriculum, enriching students’ learning experiences. The Eco-Committee’s work has been effectively communicated across the school through newsletters, assemblies, and a fantastic Eco-Board, engaging the entire school community in their efforts. The school’s Eco-Code, described as punchy and inspiring, serves as a clear call to action for everyone.
Their journey also included an educational field trip to UCL’s Mechanical Engineering Space, adding further depth to their environmental learning.
