Last Thursday, Bromley High School athletes showcased their talent at the annual Trust Rally, participating in multiple competitions across football, gymnastics, and netball.
The Year 8 Football team had an impressive run in the under 13 Bromley Trust Rally Football Tournament. They played fast-paced games, winning seven matches and drawing two. With solid defensive play and an attacking force that scored 19 goals, the team finished first in their group and advanced to the final. Although the final didn’t go as hoped, the team secured second place out of 20 schools.
“We are so proud of our achievement, finishing second out of twenty schools. This was a fantastic result, and every player contributed to the team’s success!”Holly, Under 13A Football Captain
A special well done to our goal scorers: Holly (7), Alexia (4), Jessica (4), Hannah (3), and Eliza (1)!
In gymnastics, Bromley High School had teams in all three categories: Under 11, 14 and over 14. Each gymnast performed vault and an individual floor routine that included tumbles, balances, and flexibility skills. The under 11 and under 14 teams finished 5th out of 12, and the over 14 team placed 7th out of 11. A special mention goes to Emily in the over 14 category, who finished 5th out of 41 gymnasts!
The netball first team had a memorable day at the GDST Rally. They started strong with three consecutive wins, followed by a tight draw and a loss against Wimbledon in the pool stage. Although they didn’t qualify for the Cup, the team pushed on to win three more matches in the Plate competition. In a close final against Croydon High School, they were narrowly defeated by just one goal. Despite the loss, the team played dynamically, showing their skill and determination!
“Well done to all the athletes for their incredible efforts and achievements at the Trust Rally!”Mr Evans, Director of Sport
