The British Transport Police officers recently visited Bromley High School as part of our PSHE and Preventative Education programme to educate Senior pupils about railway safety.
The officers emphasised the importance of sensible behaviour and careful decision-making, particularly in relation to the third power line. They also addressed the crucial issue of sexual harassment on railways, providing guidance on how to report such incidents.
During the session, students were introduced to the ‘Railway Guardian’ app, which they were encouraged to download on their phones as a safety measure. Year 10 pupils were inspired by the officers’ stories and appreciated the awareness raised about the risks of day-to-day life on public transport.
“I found this talk very realistic and understood the potential dangers of the railway.”Millie, Year 7 pupil
