Last Thursday, Years 4, 5, and 6 pupils welcomed award-winning author Jack Meggitt-Phillips for an inspiring masterclass.

The pupils were thrilled to meet the creator of ‘The Beast and the Bethany’ series, recently expanded with its fifth instalment. This humorously gothic tale features the antics of the youthful 511-year-old Ebenezer, his mischievous carnivorous Beast, and the spirited prankster, Bethany.

Jack engaged the pupils with a lively masterclass on crafting the perfect villain, encouraging them to brainstorm ideas and pen the opening to their own beastly tales. The atmosphere buzzed with creativity as the pupils embraced the challenge.

“He was so inclusive and used so many of our ideas!”Arissa, Year 4 pupil

To conclude the visit, Jack captivated the audience with a spirited reading of the first chapter from his debut book, leaving everyone enchanted by his humor and energy. Grateful for his insights into storytelling, the pupils left inspired and eager to write their own adventures!
