Students studying Economics, Business, and Politics were invited by TEAM Global to visit the Supreme Court and have tea at the House of Lords.
At the Supreme Court, the students were welcomed to sit in on cases and experienced a tour of the building, along with an informative talk on the work of the Supreme Court.
In the afternoon, they enjoyed tea at the House of Lords. Lord Carlisle delivered the address and was particularly interested in the students’ views on the current political system, as well as their opinions on whether 16 year olds should be allowed to vote.
Their day concluded with a tour of the House of Commons and the House of Lords led by a most entertaining guide. Here, they learned about the law-making process and the roles of both Houses.
