Junior School Academic

Performance and presentation skills are an integral part of our academic offer. Girls of all ages are encouraged to become articulate speakers and confident performers, playing, singing and acting in our many concerts and dramatic productions. The girls experience speaking in front of varied audiences through debating, public speaking and poetry recital events, as well as delivering a class assembly every year.

Our most recent show ‘Peter Pan’ was a huge hit with all the girls performing with excellence. 

Our team of peripatetic music teachers teach weekly individual lessons on a wide variety of instruments, from oboe to harp. We offer a wide range of ensembles including Chamber Choir, Orchestra, Training Band and Junior Choir, Strings Group and also Aural Grade Clubs in preparation for music exams. 

As part of our strong environmental ethos, we have an integrated Forest School programme, which offers opportunities for the girls to encounter the joy of the natural environment. Self-confidence and independence are increased through providing freedom, time and space to learn in a woodland area in our beautiful extensive grounds.
