New for 2024, the 140 scholarship, launched to celebrate the school’s 140th anniversary, recognises pupils’ outstanding commitment to making our community stronger.
Eligibility
- You must apply online for this scholarship by Monday 14th October 2024.
- Applicants are asked to create a portfolio showcasing any previous community or volunteering work, leadership experience; this can be within the school setting or in the wider community.
- Applicants should also submit a personal statement of no more than 4,000 characters describing any ideas for future initiatives that will engage your peers in an inclusive way and that make our community stronger, and your interest in local and global issues beyond your immediate community.
Selection process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview the week commencing 11th November 2024.
Scholar benefits
140 scholars will benefit from a wide range of exciting opportunities including:
- Support for networking within their chosen area to meet other students with similar interests from across the GDST
- Support with fundraising and advocacy for their chosen area within school
- Scholar society programme: each half-term, scholars will come together for a workshop and discussion targeted at university of career preparation
- Mentoring from specialist staff: 1:1 mentoring from specialist member of staff about academic progress and recommendations on how to wider learning
- Scholar society open mic: each term, scholars will be invited to present at an informal event for parents, teachers and special guests from different areas of scholarship and the workplace on an area of interest or performance depending on scholarship area.
