New for 2024, the 140 scholarship, launched to celebrate the school’s 140th anniversary, recognises pupils’ outstanding commitment to making our community stronger.
Eligibility
- You must apply online for this scholarship
- All pupils who successfully pass the 11+ Entrance Examination are eligible
- A portfolio should be included with the application that illustrates the pupil’s previous community work We will not accept an application without an accompanying portfolio.
Selection process
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after the Entrance Examination.
Pupils who have been shortlisted will be invited to attend an interview the week commencing 13th January 2025. Interviews will include a discussion about the pupil’s commitment to making our community stronger.
Scholar benefits
140 scholars will benefit from a wide range of exciting opportunities including:
- iPQ entrance: enrollment in the iPQ extra-curricular programme
- Support for networking within their chosen area to meet other students with similar interests from across the GDST
- Support with fundraising and advocacy for their chosen area within school
- Scholar society programme: each half-term, scholars will come together for a workshop and discussion targeted at university of career preparation
- Mentoring from specialist staff: 1:1 mentoring from specialist member of staff about academic progress and recommendations on how to wider learning
- Scholar society open mic: each term, scholars will be invited to present at an informal event for parents, teachers and special guests from different areas of scholarship and the workplace on an area of interest or performance depending on scholarship area.
