Bromley High’s History Department is teaming up with the fantastic female historians of the Herstory Club for International Women’s Day on 8th March and we need your help!

The experiences and achievements of girls and women through major historical events are still underrepresented, as is the presence and voice of women today in the history profession.

We would like pupils to write 500 words on a girl or woman from history who they find interesting. It could be somebody who is already famous, somebody you think should be better known, or somebody known to you or your family who lived through momentous events, whose story deserves to be told. Do feel free to include photographs and any other images in your work.

The Herstory Club will be publishing the most interesting of submissions from Bromley High School on their blog throughout March so your work will be available to a huge audience. As a newly published author, people will want to know more about you, so do include a brief description of you and why you love history – this can be fairly light-hearted!

Please email submissions by Monday 25th February as an attachment using Word to Miss Grant  j.grant@bro.gdst.net
