The Classics department is offering an exciting opportunity for the Bromley High community, including parents and alumnae, to refresh their Latin through a series of evening classes.
Classes will recap on basic vocabulary and grammar using the stories from the Cambridge Latin Course (all of the resources for this will be available online) as well as discussing different aspects of Roman culture, such as Roman dining, the theatre, gladiatorial combat, and politics. Classes will move swiftly through the earlier stages so that everybody has a good foundation in the language before moving onto the later books in the series.
A basic grasp of Latin would be helpful, however beginners are also welcome as long as they don’t mind the challenge!
The evening classes will run once a week for an hour from October half term to Christmas initially. Depending on demand, the department may continue the classes in the Spring and Summer terms
