Every class from Reception to Year 6 has a representative on the School Council. These girls are elected  by the members of their class and stand for half the school year, after which another set of girls is elected.

The School Council meets twice a term to discuss matters put forward by any girl via their class representative. The meetings are minuted and available for the whole school community to see.

Suggestions which have recently been implemented include changes to the menu at lunchtime, extra clocks around the school, lower ventilation handles in the cloakroom, new playground equipment and new indoor playtime games. A key project has been to review and update the Golden Rules to become more affirmative and reflect all areas of school life.

We thanked our out-going School Council members for all the work they have undertaken to develop the school. School Council members explained the roles of Chair and Secretary and presented their new healthy eating initiative, which they have worked on together with suggestions from their classes.
