Year 7 pupils awarded High Commended in 3D Printing Competition

Congratulations to Year 7 pupils, Emma, Amelia and Gulsen, for their work in Design and Technology. The girls have been awarded High Commended in the 3D Printing Competition organised by Create Education. The competition asked the girls to consider the following question, “How could 3D printing be of use to engineers of the future?”

Paul Broadhead, Head of Community Investment & Education Outreach for Rolls-Royce commented: “The designs entries were outstanding and illustrated how innovative you can get when you combine the creativity of young people with endless possibilities of technologies such as 3D printing.”
Amelia designed an eco-friendly bubble dome, Emma created a concept for a bridge that absorbed pollution and Gulsen had a creative take on the competition designing wigs, hair extensions and fake fur with a super fine strand of 3D printed filaments

We are delighted with their achievements and all pupils in Design and Technology will be able to utilise the new 3D printer that we have up and running in the CAD CAM room.
