In History, Year 7 pupils have been exploring creativity, technology, and history by creating themed digital accounts of the medieval knight ‘Roland’.
This project sparked a range of questions about medieval art, daily life, and belief, leading to deep discussions about the power of the Church and how knights and crusaders impacted different people and regions.
Pupils were particularly fascinated by the Medieval Panorama book, which offered a glimpse into the art and experiences of the medieval world. As they studied the book, students gained insight into the complex social and cultural structures of the time. They then applied their digital skills to create their own digital representations, capturing their learning through videos, images, and interactive content.
The project not only enhanced the pupils’ understanding of history but also allowed them to develop valuable skills in technology and storytelling. It was a truly engaging way to bring the medieval world to life!
