On Tuesday, the fabulous team from Leap Then Look ran an inspiring art workshop for all Year 8 pupils, focusing on collaboration, playfulness, inquisitiveness, and experimentation.

Leap Then Look is an innovative organisation that engages students with contemporary art through hands-on workshops, fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

The pupils participated in three creative activities throughout the day. They began by constructing bamboo structures inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s Geodesic Domes, which challenged their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Next, they sculpted collaborative clay pieces while blindfolded, encouraging trust and spontaneous creativity. Finally, they built elaborate 3D installations using wooden offcuts and various prompts, pushing their imaginations to new heights.

The day was a brilliant opportunity to immerse pupils in contemporary art practices. They left with fresh perspectives on looking, making, and thinking, all while having fun and learning the power of collaboration.

“The workshop was a perfect blend of artistic expression and hands-on exploration, leaving a lasting impact on the pupils!”Ms Deborah Farr, Art Teacher
