Our Reception pupils have been enjoying their ‘All Aboard’ topic this term. Each week, they will be learning about a different type of transport.

The class began their new topic with cars, exploring how they have changed over time. They examined a real car, identifying its parts and understanding how it functions. The children then had the opportunity to get hands-on, using tools and materials to create their own moving cars.

As part of the topic, the class went on a walk around the school grounds, clipboards in hand, to investigate which car colour was the most popular. Before heading out, they made predictions, with many thinking that blue cars would be the most common. However, after completing their survey, they were surprised to find that silver cars were the most frequently seen, leading to a lively discussion about why that might be!
