Welcome to The Book Corner, a biweekly book review by a member of our fantastic Bromley High School community.

This week’s contribution is from Year 7 pupil Skye. Skye enjoys reading mystery and crime books, as she enjoys trying to work out what will happen next! In her spare time she is a keen gymnast and likes to unwind with Netflix in her spare time.

‘Sister Missing’ By Sophie McKenzie

This book is a sequel to ‘Girl Missing’ also written by Sophie McKenzie. I recently finished this book and it is definitely a book I couldn’t put down and left me on the edge of my seat and will do the same for you.

The criminal suspense is a story about a teenager called Lauren who recently just went through a traumatising kidnapping with her best friend Jam; not even a few months later her little sister Madison experiences the same trauma, uncoincidentally exactly like Lauren. The teenage girl couldn’t sit down and wait for her sister after a very worrying text message from the kidnapper came through: she had to solve the mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan on reading more books by the fantastic author Sophie McKenzie and you should too. I often try to read crime and mystery books as I love the suspenseful feeling and having to know what disaster comes next.
