Throughout the week, Junior School pupils took part in various activities to celebrate Outdoor Learning Day, with each day offering new experiences and learning opportunities.

Reception pupils were thrilled as the Fluid Scientists created giant bubbles. Meanwhile, Year 1 delved into geography, sketching key features and mapping the playground, while mastering fractions in math by discovering halves and quarters of shapes.

In Year 2, the girls spent the morning crafting their own personal clocks before venturing outside to challenge their partners to tell the correct time. To conclude the lesson, they used loop cards to arrange addition sentences up to 100 in the correct order. Remarkably, they completed the challenge in just seven minutes, showcasing beautiful collaboration.

Year 3H pupils enjoyed an outdoor English session with Year 12 pupils. Additionally, Year 3 participated in Spanish games such as “Playing It,” where they released each other by asking and answering questions in Spanish. They also engaged in a “Months Circle,” standing in the middle and stating their birthdays in Spanish when their month was called. Furthermore, they embarked on a color scavenger hunt, naming objects in Spanish to their teacher.

Year 3B engaged in outdoor math revision activities, utilising the courtyard for dynamic learning experiences. Meanwhile, the dance studio became a canvas for artistic reflection as the pupils explored the intricacies of muscles in science while also exploring the playground.

Year 4B embraced nature in Forest School. Year 5 delved into technology, measuring steps with micro:bits, while Year 6 engaged in thought-provoking discussions on bias in AI, navigating through scenarios with critical thinking.

As the week unfolded, each pupil found themselves enriched by the diverse array of experiences, fostering growth and exploration in the vibrant corridors of knowledge.
