Bromley High School pupils were delighted to be awarded first prize, the Alun Jones Memorial Trophy, at this year’s Chislehurst Environmental Awards.
Every year, the Chislehurst Society hosts the highly anticipated Environmental Awards, an event celebrating creativity and the arts in the local area. The theme of the competition this year was ‘Design on Chislehurst’, celebrating architectural styles and structural materials that make up our local environment, with the awards ceremony being held at The Methodist Church in Chislehurst.
In the senior category, all Year 10 Design and Technology pupils received certificates for their entries, which explored architectural styles and structural materials through the creation of computer-aided models. Special congratulations are due to Nicole and Aimee, both highly commended for their designs.
In the junior category, Bromley High School proudly secured joint first place for demonstrating the most creativity. The collaborative reimagined maps by Year 5 pupils and the observational drawings by Year 3 pupils both earned this accolade. Additionally, individual talents within our Year 5 Art Club were acknowledged, with Lukshmi, Frey, Victoria, Lydia, Amelia, and Myla each receiving a ‘highly commended’ certificate.
The breadth of creativity displayed at the awards was truly remarkable, with Bromley High School entries spanning across various mediums and age groups.
Congratulations to all pupils who took part.
