Although we managed to choose the only day in May when the sun refused to shine we were able to relocate our annual Alumnae Afternoon Tea inside the Sixth Form common room where it was a pleasure to welcome back former pupils and teachers to Bromley High. Sophisticated conversation, an array of sandwiches and cakes on offer and live background music, provided by our gifted musicians from both the junior and senior schools, more than made up for an overcast afternoon. It was fascinating to talk to former pupils who attended the school when it was located next to Bromley South railway station. They were amazed at the size of the common room, the stylish sofas and tables and the secret staircase leading up to a separate study area for the sixth formers. Instead some reminisced about their lessons being interrupted by announcements regarding platform alterations from the nearby station. Whenever people return they always speak so fondly about their time at Bromley High.
It is a pleasure to keep in touch and we hope to see even more alumnae returning for our next event on Saturday 10th November.
