The Art department hosted their annual Art Exhibition on Thursday 24th May 2018, 6.00 – 8.00 with accomplished music provided by our musicians.
Our 2018 Exhibition has once again provided the opportunity to showcase and celebrate the outstanding creative work that has been produced by our current Year 11 Fine Art GCSE students, our Year 12 Art and Photography students and our Year 13 Fine Art and Photography A level students.
Engaging and diverse personal idea’s range from the visual and cultural elements of urban street art to issues of identity and political turmoil.
The GCSE examination theme of ‘Fragments’ led Amelia Mielniczek, our sixth form scholar for 2019, to develop a series of emotive portraits which reflect an excellent rendering of form through tone and mark.
An Art study tour to Rome inspired such thematic projects as Serena Gupta’s, our current 2018 scholars work inspired by the cultural monuments combining textiles processes and painting.
In Year 13 the students are given the opportunity to develop greater independence by choosing their own themes for their coursework element.
Olivia Brooks-Wilkins, our scholar for 2017 has created a thought provoking installation motivated by her chosen coursework theme, ‘Order and Classification’.
