We are delighted to congratulate Year 11 on achieving a splendid 44% A*s in their GCSE examinations. The new grade 9s (awarded to the top 3% of entries nationally) have created extra excitement this year. ‘Bromley High girls rose to the challenge magnificently with an amazing 24% of grades being awarded the ‘super A*’’, commented Headmistress, Angela Drew ‘I am immensely proud of the girls and their teachers. They have worked so hard for these brilliant results.’

Bromley High’s national reputation for teaching of STEM subjects was reflected in a third of all Mathematics and Computing grades being awarded Grade 9s (10 times the national average!) and an average of 63% A*s across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Last year, a Bromley student received the award for the best Geography GCSE result in the UK and this year, results were equally good with 61% A*.

Superb language results with more than half of all entries in French, German, Spanish and Latin achieving A* grades were in stark contrast to recent newspapers reports of a national decline in the teaching of Languages. Similarly, outstanding results in Dance, Drama and Music reflected the school’s continuing commitment to breadth in the curriculum in opposition to the narrowing of the curriculum and the pressure on creative subjects in the state sector.

In a year of fantastic results, special congratulations go to sixteen of our girls who all achieved 9, 10 or 11 A*s and to all the girls whose hard work enabled them to exceed even their own expectations.
