On Tuesday the 2nd of April, 30 Bromley High students attended The Institue of Engineering and Technology’s Engfest at Savoy Place. EngFest is the IET’s flagship STEM event, designed to teach 11-18 year olds more about the mind-blowing world of science and engineering.
The event aims to inform and inspire future generations by offering them the chance to take part in a series of engineering-themed workshops, get hands experience with new technologies on in our interactive technology showcase and hear talks from some of the world’s most exciting and influential speakers at the cutting-edge of their fields.
15 year 9 students who have an interest in Design and Technology spent the day with Mr Bratton and Ms Packham experiencing hands on workshops and talks on the world of engineering. Students also had the opportunity to meet representatives from some of the UK’s leading engineering companies in an interactive technology showcase.
15 year 12 physics and DT&E students spent the day listening to a number of TED talk style lectures on ground breaking advances in technology such as Hyperloop and Swarm Robotics.
